The earliest known photobook made by a foreigner which depicts the liberation struggle of the MPLA forces against their coloniser, Portugal. Italian student of History and Geography Augusta Conchiglia visited the liberated zones in eastern Angola. Her photographs were published in a book, in both French and Italian, which feature a motif of duplicated and radically cropped pictures.
