 Italian photographer Dante Vacchi, a former member of the French Foreign Legion, and journalist Anna Gaüzes were invited by the Portuguese colonial authorities to report on the fighting against the FNLA Forces. This reporting evokes a lot of the imagery made from a western perspective during the colonial wars in Algeria and Vietnam. Although presented as a series of factual photographs, the highly propagandistic character of these texts and images shine through.
